The First Batch of Jack & Jill School and staff 1980-81
The International School Accra (ISA) is an expansion of Jack and Jill School which was established by Mrs. Agnes Kwakye in 1975 as a nursery school. Her vision was to give children from diverse backgrounds a solid academic foundation on which to build in subsequent years. Theprimaryclasseswere introducedin1978andJuniorSecondarySch olin1992.
ISA is a four-year coeducational High School that offers world-class education and global opportunities to children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. We offer a rigorous and challenging academic program and give our students the choice of receiving an American High School Certificate or the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBD). ISA creates a unique setting that encourages exploration, curiosity and support students’ growing independence while providing the structure necessary for them to achieve their God-given potential. Students must build success in school and life on a firm foundation of a good high school education. For that reason, we strive to prepare our students for successful completion of university. With that goal in mind, it is imperative to implement a curriculum designed to meet exceptionally high standards and to ensure that students master skills and knowledge in each content area at every grade level. We encourage students’ natural desire to explore and provide unique learning experiences that extend learning well beyond the classroom.
